Job Title: Controllership – Reconciliation Analyst

Role Summary/Purpose:

This individual will contribute to the development of the Reconciliation Team. The role requires leveraging accounting knowledge to perform effective reconciliation reviews and implement efficiencies in the related processes. The role focuses on driving consistency in how reconciliations are performed within the Controllership organization. The position involves transforming observations and conclusions from quality assurance reviews into process improvements. This role will require collaboration with Controllership process owners and account reconcilers.

Essential Responsibilities:

Reconciliation Reviews -

• Perform timely reconciliation reviews for Balance Sheet accounts across all SYF processes
• Support development of quality and consistent reconciliation reviews
• Work with process teams to ensure reconciliations are prepared timely
• Work with process teams to resolve unreconciled accounts
• Work with reconcilers to implement improvements to reconciliations
• Ensure Governance and Quality Assurance findings are addressed timely

Reconciliation Administration -

• Assist in creation of documentation of match rules and payment reports across all processes
• Assist with execution on process improvement and simplification ideas
• Perform reconciliation maintenance as assigned
• Creation and maintenance of team job aids
• Perform Reconciliation System admin tasks as assigned
• Support of internal and external audits and internal control reviews
• Support reporting to stakeholders
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with hands on experience in Reconciliation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Software Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent organization and follow up skills
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
• Ability to execute in a fluctuating environment
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service
• Ability to lead small projects to completion

Desired Characteristics:

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• Experience in financial services industry
• Experience in controllership or financial analysis
• Reconciliation software experience
• Oracle GL experience
• Demonstrated team player with ability to achieve results through cross-functional collaboration
• Experience applying analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
